08:45 - Maswik Lodge
Maggi and I just got back from going out to the rim to watch the sunrise from Yavapai Point and then having breakfast at the El Tovar and now we are just hanging out for a while until it is time for me to head over to the GCHBA (Grand Canyon Hikers and Backpackers Association) board meeting. We have to check out of the room by 11:00 and my meeting does not get out until 12:00 so we are going to check out before the meeting and she will go to something herself while I am tied up at the meeting. After the meeting were going to try a short hike on the Grandview Trail down to the Coconino Saddle.
I met with the real estate agent in Flagstaff yesterday afternoon and ended up seeing several hours that I liked. We went to see 5 and all of them were very nice, 3 of them were exceptionally nice and one I think Robin will really like and is just perfect. We need to put some money down to show that we are interested and then get Robin out here at some point in the next 10 days to take a look at it. The purchase will actually be contingent on her liking it. It is a nice house with 4 bedrooms and 2 baths and big open area with living room, dining room and kitchen, 2 car garage, forced air heat, gas cooking, nice backyard with a hot tub... It just seems perfect and the price is a bargain and a lot less than we were expecting to pay.
I met Maggi over at Macys a little after 4:00 yesterday and the real estate agent came along as well to get some info from me regarding the intended purchase. Afterwards Maggi and I went over to the Beaver Street Brewery for dinner. Its a really nice restaurant and also has some very good beer. I could see spending a lot of time there when we live in Flag.
The ride up to the Canyon was nice and we ended up getting back up to Maswik Lodge just a little after sunset. It was already dark actually but we ended up going out for a nice walk along the rim trail anyway and just talking and looking at the lights from the village and the stars. It was very nice to finally see her again and it was a very cool way to spend the evening.
